We left Florida April 16th to go home and spend time with our family before our BIG trip. We had everyone over for an Easter fish fry with the fish we caught in Florida. It was a great day with all our children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. We celebrated our great granddaughters first birthday with her very own Birthday cupcake.
While home I took Paige shopping for her graduation dress. I think we hit every store in Peoria. Now that we have seen everyone and repacked the motorhome we are ready to leave. It is Sunday, April 1st, 10:30 and we are on our way. The first two nights out we camped at our favorite campsite provided by Sam Walton. He provides free camping and a place to shop. We are now headed for sky country, rolling hills, dirt roads, and snow covered mountains. It is 20 degrees and their is snow on the side of the road. I really wanted to get out and make a snow angel but no place to park. It is 20 degrees and the rest areas are not open yet. The wind has been awful, throwing us all over the road. Hey Rick talk about boat aerobics we are experencing R.V. aerobics. We are headed for Flaming Gorge to spend a couple days. Flaming Gorge is in Wyoming and Utah, the Uinta mountains.
The hiking was great, we hiked from the top of the gorge to the bottom. It proved to be a great place to spend a few days. The last night before we see Christine was spent on the Columbia river. There are places to pull off and spend the night on the river. It is such an awesome place, hundreds of fisherman.
We arrived at Carl's daughter on Saturday. We got out of the motorhome only to find at the last stop when we ran the car we had forgotten to turn the motor off. Christine had a lucious Salmon dinner ready for us. We went to the mountains several times to hike with Christine and Emil. One of the hikes Emil brought his kayak and as we hiked to the different water falls he would meet us their and give us a thrill by going over the falls in his kayak. It was pretty neat. Carl wanted to try it but decided it was something you had to do when you were a bit younger. It was a great visit with Christine and we hated to leave but you know the old saying, after about a week, company starts to stink. It was now time to get on the road to the Seattle area to visit my sisters.
Arrived at my Sister Suzie's in time for dinner (getting to be a habit arriving in time for dinner) of Steak and all the trimmings. While in the area we had great walks with my sisters, bike ride, wonderful dinners (one cooked by my niece,Jocelyn) pikes market in downtown Seattle with my sister Cathy (love this place), took a cruise on the Puget Sound and learned some history of Seattle, but best of all saw some of the boats from the deadliest catch and the floating house that was in the movie Sleepless in Seattle. The boats are brought into Washington lake to get them into fresh water to do repairs and to get them out of the salt water. We had great weather while we were in Seattle, we could see the snow covered mountains of Rainer to the south and Baker to the north. O Another great visit but time to move on to meet up with Jiggs and Cynthia in Cache creek Canada.
